Platinum Price Jumps Nearly 3% Amid Global Market Volatility
Spot platinum jumped nearly 3% to $1,867.82 per ounce on September 9, marking its recovery from sharp pullback earlier this year.
The metal has been moving higher in recent sessions, with live market data showing it trading around the $1,870 level during Wednesday's session.
The latest move comes as global markets face fresh geopolitical pressure and major swings in commodity prices. Brent crude surged above $100 a barrel amid the Middle East conflict.
Platinum had climbed to a record high of over $2,900 per ounce in January before falling sharply. It's now trading below that peak but its recent recovery is significant, with platinum up more than 30% from a year earlier as of September 9, according to Trading Economics data.
