PNGRB Approves 1,800 km Long LPG Pipeline Network in India
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) of India has authorized a new 1,800 km long LPG pipeline network. The project, which carries an estimated capital investment of ₹7,000 crore, will be executed by GAIL (India) Limited as the authorized entity.
The pipeline network will span across six states: Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, and Goa. It consists of three pipelines measuring 556 km, 611 km, and 633 km respectively, forming a dedicated LPG transportation network for bulk movement of liquefied petroleum gas.
With this expansion, India's common-carrier LPG pipeline network is set to increase by approximately 23.5% from the current length of about 7,700 km to around 9,500 km upon completion.
