Poland's Wheat Price Hits Record High Amid Ukrainian Export Disruptions
The price of wheat in Poland has reached an all-time high of PLN 1,000/t at the Port of Gdansk. This surge is largely attributed to disruptions in Ukrainian wheat exports due to maritime logistics issues.
European analysts predict that Ukraine will export only 5-10 million tons of wheat in the 2026/27 season, down from 14 million tons in 2025/26 and 15.7 million tons in 2024/25.
The main risks to Ukrainian exports include disruptions at Greater Odesa ports, congestion on alternative export routes, and further escalation in the Black Sea.
