Post-Harvest Machinery Market Sees Increased Buyer Activity with High Corn Prices
The post-harvest machinery market is expected to see increased buyer activity if corn prices continue above $5.00 to $5.50 per bushel, according to Andy Campbell, director of insights for Tractor Zoom. This could lead to tightened used inventory levels before the year closes.
Campbell and Ryan Roosinck from Tractor Zoom discussed post-harvest equipment inventory levels on a recent episode of the Machinery Podcast. They noted that dealer-driven auctions have decreased due to inventory corrections through 2024 and 2025, with manageable equipment levels on many dealer lots.
The equipment pricing gap between late-model, high-technology machinery and older units is growing, particularly in the self-propelled sprayer market. Campbell pointed out that strength in late-model pricing for 3-5-year-old units with advanced technology is driving this trend.
