POWERGAS Africa Sees No Impact from Iran-US Conflict on Gas Supply
The recent Iran-US conflict has not disrupted gas supply operations for POWERGAS Africa in Delta State, Nigeria. According to Sumeet Singh, CEO of POWERGAS Africa, this stability is due to long-term domestic gas supply arrangements.
Singh attributed the stability during a panel session at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit 2026, where he explained that global geopolitical tensions have caused fluctuations in diesel and petrol prices. However, POWERGAS Africa's gas prices remain stable thanks to its long-term agreements with upstream producers and customers.
Singh stated, 'Our customers are not affected by events in Iran,' highlighting the benefits of harnessing Nigeria's domestic gas resources. The company has established a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mother station at Ebedei, near Abraka in Delta State, which supplies gas across the state and surrounding regions.
The facility provides reliable energy for factories and power generation, with at least 20 factories currently receiving gas through the virtual pipeline network. This enables uninterrupted operations despite transmission and distribution constraints.
