Powerus Secures $22.3 Million Contract for Counter-Drone Tech in Middle East
A US-based drone and radar manufacturer, Powerus, has secured a commercial contract worth approximately $22.3 million to supply counter-drone technology for protecting oil and gas infrastructure in the Middle East.
The system will detect, track, and classify drone threats, providing real-time information to operators at a central control hub. This integrated approach is designed to offer a comprehensive solution against aerial threats in the region.
Powersus built the system with future integration of their Guardian drone interceptor in mind, allowing for expanded capabilities as threats evolve. The contract underscores growing demand for counter-drone defenses in the Middle East, particularly following recent incidents targeting oil and gas facilities during the US-Israeli war with Iran.
