Precious Metal Prices Surge at New York Merchantile Exchange
The New York Merchantile Exchange (NYMEX) has reported an increase in prices for precious metals. On August 20th, gold futures rose by 0.52% to $4516.30 per troy ounce, while silver futures surged by 3.50% to $68.03. Platinum futures also saw a significant gain, increasing by 3.46% to $1879.60.
The NYMEX is a US futures market founded in 1882, operating through two divisions: the NYMEX Division and the COMEX Division. The former handles trades of oil, gas, platinum, palladium, ethanol, coal, electricity, and carbon dioxide emissions, while the latter deals with gold, silver, copper, and aluminum.
