Precious Metals Prices Surge at NYMEX on August 14
The New York Merchantile Exchange (NYMEX) reported an increase in precious metals prices on August 14. The NYMEX, a US futures market founded in 1882, has two divisions: the NYMEX Division and the COMEX Division.
The NYMEX Division handles trades of oil, gas, platinum, palladium, ethanol, coal, electricity, and carbon dioxide emissions. In contrast, the COMEX Division is responsible for gold, silver, copper, and aluminum trades.
Precious metals prices have seen a surge on August 14. Gold futures are up by 1.37% to $4373.90 per troy ounce (31.1 grams), while silver futures increased by 0.18% to $64.99. Platinum futures saw the largest gain, rising by 2.37% to $1756.80.
