Precious Metals Stocks Shine as Aya, Lahontan, and Contango Make Key Moves
Aya Gold & Silver is expanding its presence in Morocco by acquiring a new copper-silver portfolio for CAD 4 million. The newly secured area covers 139 km², with 19 km² under an existing mining licence. This acquisition is strategically advantageous as it's situated near the already-producing Zgounder mine and exhibits comparable geological characteristics.
The company achieved growth in its operations during Q2, with production volume rising by 61% to 1.68 million ounces of silver equivalent, revenue increasing by 151% to USD 97 million, and net profit rising by 305% to USD 35 million.
Despite this strong growth, Aya Gold & Silver fell short of market expectations due to sales delays and a decline in silver prices towards the end of Q2. However, the company is maintaining its full-year production forecast of 6.2 to 6.8 million ounces of silver equivalent.
