PSX Tumbles Amid Global Sell-Off and Oil Price Surge
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) took a hit on Wednesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index plummeting by 1,339.73 points or 0.75% to 176,284.15 at 1:04pm amid weak regional markets and surging oil prices.
The decline in the PSX came as global investors sold off stocks due to concerns over artificial intelligence-related investments and rising tensions between the US and Iran, which led to a surge in oil prices.
Oil prices jumped following fresh attacks in the Middle East, raising concerns over potential supply disruptions and their impact on global inflation and interest rates.
