PTI Slams Govt Wheat Policy, Demands Forensic Audit

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has criticized the government's wheat policy, calling for a forensic audit of official production and stock figures. The party claims that with 4.1 million tonnes already held by the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) and other government agencies, authorities should explain the disappearance of an additional 4.5 million tonnes of wheat.

The PTI alleges that farmers have been forced to sell their crop below production costs due to the government's failure to enforce the minimum support price. This has led to higher prices for flour and bread, affecting consumers.

The party demands a forensic audit of wheat stocks, the declaration of an agricultural emergency, the cancellation of unnecessary wheat imports, and an early announcement of the minimum support price for the next wheat crop.
