Pune CNG Sales on Brink of Shutdown as Low Pressure Continues

Pune's CNG sales are on the verge of a shutdown due to low gas pressure in the distribution network, according to the Petrol Dealers Association Pune (PDAP). The association has given Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) a 24-hour ultimatum to resolve the issue.

The PDAP claims that the low pressure has been plaguing stations for over a month, leading to massive queues, traffic congestion, and significant drops in dispensing capacity. This has resulted in financial losses for dealers and frustration for thousands of motorists.

According to the association, MNGL supplies CNG to approximately 131 stations across Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Hinjewadi, and Talegaon. Despite a recent price hike to Rs95.75 per kg, service quality has deteriorated.

The PDAP's president, Dhruv Ruparel, stated that dealers are facing heavy financial losses, public outrage, and even police action while MNGL remains silent. He demanded that MNGL publicly acknowledge the issue and clarify to the district administration and police that dealers are not responsible for operational delays or traffic snarls.
