Rising gold and silver prices have not deterred buyers in Pune, India, from purchasing traditional Ganeshotsav ornaments during the festival. Despite elevated precious-metal prices, jewellers report continued demand for gold and silver Ganapati ornaments, with customers opting for lighter and smaller pieces to manage costs.

According to Vastupal Ranka, director at Ranka Jewellers, customers are reducing the weight of purchases while retaining traditional designs. He added that some families are also exchanging older pieces for newer designs.

Silver articles have seen significant demand, particularly durva, modaks, thalis, lotas, panchpatras, lamps, and bowls. PNG Jewellers has reported demand for silver mukuts, haars, kalash, auspicious ornaments, durva, hibiscus flowers, and silver mice, with prices starting at around Rs 500 and varying by weight and craftsmanship.
