Qalibaf Warns US: Hit Iran's Oil Assets and You'll Get Struck

Iran's parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, has warned that US energy assets in the Gulf and around the Strait of Hormuz are exposed to Iranian retaliation if Washington strikes Tehran's oil and gas infrastructure.

'It's simple: the oil and gas production chain here is sprawling, accessible, and exposed,' Qalibaf said on social media platform X. 'American oil and gas companies across these waters and facilities share that exposure.'

This warning comes amid US warnings that Iranian oil vessels could be targeted in response to attacks on American naval forces.

'Strike our assets and you get struck,' Qalibaf added, referencing past incidents where Iranian targets have been hit. 'We've already proven it. Ask the bases that are no longer viable.'

The US has been involved in a dispute with Iran over navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, with warnings from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper.
