Qatar LNG Tanker Resumes Journey Through Strait of Hormuz

Qatar has resumed shipping liquefied natural gas (LNG) through the Strait of Hormuz after a three-week hiatus. The Al Areesh, one of Qatar's tankers, picked up a shipment from the Ras Laffan export facility in early July and had been idling in the Persian Gulf since then.

The tanker sailed through Hormuz with its transponder turned on and was entering the Gulf of Oman on Thursday morning local time, according to ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg. The Al Areesh is now signaling Pakistan as its next destination.

This development comes after one of Qatar's tankers was attacked in the waterway more than three weeks ago. However, no details are available about the attack or its impact on Qatari LNG exports through Hormuz.
