Qatar LNG Tanker Struck in Strait of Hormuz

A liquefied natural gas tanker carrying a shipment from Qatar was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to security intelligence firms and ship tracking data.

The vessel, identified as the Gaslog Shanghai LNG tanker by security consultancies Vanguard Tech and Marisks, was reportedly hit in the strait off the Omani coast overnight.

No environmental impact has been reported so far, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, which had alerted that a vessel was struck in the strait without identifying it.
