QatarEnergy-Controlled LNG Tanker Exits Strait of Hormuz After Three-Week Drought

A QatarEnergy-controlled liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, Al Areesh, has exited the Strait of Hormuz for the first time in nearly three weeks. The tanker loaded a cargo at Qatar's Ras Laffan terminal between July 4-6 and sailed out overnight on July 29.

The departure marks the first time an LNG tanker controlled by QatarEnergy has left the strait since the Al Rekayyat was struck in early July. Another LNG tanker, Al Hamra, exited the strait on July 11, carrying a cargo loaded at the United Arab Emirates' Das Island.

In related news, the Mraweh LNG tanker reappeared inside the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, after being last detected outside the strait in ballast on July 24. The vessel is controlled by Adnoc Gas and remained in ballast, according to Kpler data.
