Qatari LNG Carrier Struck by Projectile in Strait of Hormuz
A tanker that was penalized in the Strait of Hormuz has been identified as a Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, according to reports.
The GasLog Shanghai, which is flagged in Bermuda and carrying Qatari LNG, was struck by a projectile after its transponder was disabled, violating transit regulations.
Satellite data indicates that the incident occurred in the southern corridor of the Strait of Hormuz near the coast of Oman, specifically 11 nautical miles northeast of Lima and 21 nautical miles northeast of Khasab.
