A Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, according to Bloomberg.

The incident occurred on August 1, 2026, and involved the GasLog Shanghai. No casualties or environmental impact were reported.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations had earlier stated that a tanker was hit off the Omani coast, causing damage to its engine room and rendering it unable to maneuver.
