Qatari LNG Tanker Struck Again in Strait of Hormuz

A liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, Gaslog Shanghai, carrying a shipment from Qatar was struck by a projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on July 31.

The incident threatens to further disrupt deliveries of LNG through the key waterway, which accounts for about a fifth of global flows of the super-chilled fuel.

This is not an isolated incident. In early July, another Qatari LNG tanker was hit near Hormuz, forcing Qatar to pause shipments through the waterway for three weeks.
