Qatar's LNG Exports Plummet 96% Amid Strait of Hormuz Disruption

The Strait of Hormuz disruption has severely impacted Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, with shipments plummeting by 96%.

According to ICIS data cited by Reuters, Qatar shipped only 18 LNG cargoes during the reporting period, compared to 509 cargoes during the same period last year.

This represents a major disruption to global energy markets and has cost Qatar an estimated $24 billion in lost gas revenues.

Before the war, Qatar accounted for roughly one-fifth of the world's daily LNG supply, making it a critical supplier to major energy-importing markets in Europe and Asia.
