Qeshm Island Hit by Oil Residue from Strait of Hormuz Conflict
The island of Qeshm in Iran is showing signs of the ongoing conflict around the Strait of Hormuz. Dark oil residue has been found on its shores, including mangrove-lined waters and Shib Deraz Beach.
The photos taken by Amirhosein Khorgooi show oil-stained water and shoreline near fishing boats. The source of the spill is not independently determined, but it's happening amid ongoing wartime attacks on vessels and infrastructure in the area.
