The Iranian authorities have announced that the removal of marine and coastal oil spills near Qeshm Island is in its final stages. According to Habib Masihi Taziani, Director General of the Hormozgan Province Environmental Protection Organization, the pollution in the southern Qeshm region had been almost completely removed by sunset yesterday.
The Suza area, where oil spills were also present, has been cleared as well, according to Taziani. This development comes after efforts to mitigate the environmental impact of the spill.
