Quantinuum Partners with Aramco on Quantum Computing Applications
Quantinuum Inc., a Broomfield-based quantum-technology firm that went public this year, has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with Aramco, Saudi Arabia's majority state-owned oil and gas company.
The MOU aims to explore industrial use cases for quantum technology in the energy sector and prepare for potential research collaboration on fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Quantinuum will work with Aramco to identify challenges suitable for quantum computing research, focusing on complex problems in energy and digital transformation. The collaboration will assess how future generations of quantum systems can address relevant scientific and industrial challenges and benchmark different quantum computing modalities.
Rajeeb Hazra, CEO of Quantinuum, stated that organizations benefiting from quantum computing need to develop their expertise, algorithms, and workflows today. He emphasized the importance of combining Aramco's scientific and engineering knowledge with Quantinuum's integrated hardware and software capabilities to build a strong foundation for research across future generations of quantum computing.
