Rajasthan's oil production is set to increase significantly, according to Additional Chief Secretary Aparna Arora. The state currently produces around 51,000-52,000 barrels of crude oil per day, but plans to raise this to 80,000 barrels per day in phases using enhanced oil recovery technologies.

The technology will be used in three different basins: the Barmer-Sanchore and Jaisalmer basins will use Alkali Surfactant Polymer (ASP) technology, while the Bikaner-Nagaur basin will use Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS).

Rajasthan currently ranks second in onshore natural gas production and third in crude oil production among states. The state has 12 petroleum leases and 12 petroleum exploration licences, with natural gas production standing at 2.6-2.8 MMSCMD.
