Rapeseed Prices Under Pressure from Logistics Costs and Falling Sunflower Prices

The global rapeseed market is experiencing mixed signals due to rising logistics costs and falling prices for sunflower and soybean in Ukraine. Although oil prices have reached $100 per barrel, supporting oilseed prices, including rapeseed, the improved forecast for the global oilseed harvest has limited further price growth.

The global rapeseed production forecast for 2026/27 has been increased by 1.86 million tons to a record 99.97 million tons. This is attributed to higher forecasts in Australia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uruguay, which offset the decrease in the EU's forecast.

Prices for November canola futures on the Winnipeg Stock Exchange fell 2.6% but rose to CAD 823/t or $591/t. Prices in Canada are supported by rainy and cold weather delaying harvest, but temperatures will rise soon, allowing harvesting without losses.
