Record US Production Cuts Natural Gas Prices
Natural gas prices have been stuck in a flat-to-lower performance over the past month, trading at $2.73 per MMBtu as of August, down 1.45% on the session against a previous settlement near $2.77.
Despite a persistent heat dome supporting strong regional cooling demand and slowing storage injections, the effect on total demand and Henry Hub pricing has been muted to the point of irrelevance.
The recent high in prices climbed above $2.80 on August 19, but the market gave back the entire move and then some just five sessions later.
