Red Sea Threats Raise Pressure on Saudi Oil Export Routes

The Red Sea's Bab al-Mandeb Strait has become increasingly vulnerable to security threats from Yemen's Houthi movement, putting pressure on Saudi Arabia's oil export routes.

Rising concerns have led several oil tankers to change their routes, with at least four vessels reversing direction and moving towards the Suez Canal instead of continuing through the Bab al-Mandeb route.

The shift reflects growing caution among shipping companies and energy operators as security risks in one of the world's busiest maritime corridors continue to develop.
