Regional Powers Unite Against Aggression with Mecca Defense Pact

Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have signed a significant defense agreement, which treats an attack on one of the countries as an attack on all three.

The 'Mecca Joint Defense Agreement' was inked in the Saudi holy city during a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression and would enable joint military exercises, technology transfers, and intelligence sharing among the three nations.

Saudi Arabia has been seeking to diversify its defense partnerships, particularly after critical infrastructure and oil facilities came under attack in connection with the war in Iran.
