Renaissance Africa Energy Unveils Major Offshore Oil Discovery in Nigeria
Renaissance Africa Energy Company has announced an offshore oil discovery in Nigeria's OML 74, boosting hopes for improved crude oil production targets. The JK-004 exploration well encountered approximately 1,000 feet of hydrocarbon-bearing intervals across seven reservoirs containing light oil.
The discovery was made during the NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition 2026 by Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, who described it as an important milestone for the country's upstream sector.
Renaissance Africa Energy Company's Managing Director, Tony Attah, said the discovery reflected effective collaboration with joint venture partners and regulators, demonstrating the company's commitment to advancing Nigeria's long-term oil production objectives.
