Resolute Mining Aims for 2x Gold Output Growth by 2028
Resolute Mining, an Australian gold producer, is on track to more than double its annual production from 250,000-275,000 ounces in 2026 to over 500,000 ounces by 2028. The company's growth plans are centered around the Doropo project in Côte d'Ivoire, which is expected to start producing gold in H2 2028.
The Doropo project has a post-tax NPV of US$2,543 million, a 72% IRR, and a 1.1-year payback period at a US$4,000/oz gold price. The project's reserve base is 59-million-tonne, with 2.5 million ounces of gold.
Resolute Mining also has an expanded ABC project resource of over 3.0 million ounces in Côte d'Ivoire, which positions the deposit as a candidate to become Resolute's fourth West African mine. Feasibility studies for the ABC project are targeted for completion by the end of 2027.
The company's CEO, Chris Eger, believes that the market is underpricing Resolute Mining's growth given its pipeline and financial position. The company has a cash-rich balance sheet and a strong operating cashflow, which it expects to continue generating substantial cash at current gold prices.
