Riverside County Gas Prices Hit New Heights Amid Crude Oil Fears
Riverside County's gas prices have increased for an unprecedented 18th consecutive day, reaching $5.758 per gallon of self-serve regular gasoline on Saturday.
This marks the highest price since June 8, with a total increase of 23.8 cents over the past 18 days, including a 2.3 cent rise on Friday alone.
The national average price also saw a small decrease to $4.145 per gallon, but remains at its highest point this late in the year, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
'The current Labor Day record is $3.82, set on September 3, 2012,' said AAA, adding that 'gasoline demand decreases this time of year, typically bringing down gas prices.'
