Riyadh's Energy Strategy Fuels Saudi Tourism Boom
Riyadh's energy security strategy is driving the Saudi Arabia tourism boom by securing long-term economic stability. The de-risking initiative encourages global hospitality brands and real estate developers to invest heavily in Red Sea resorts and high-tech urban destinations.
The kingdom has established alternative pipelines and export routes to bypass the vulnerable Strait of Hormuz, which has traditionally been one of the world's most critical energy corridors. This transformation creates wider benefits for regional infrastructure, supporting the construction of hotels, airports, and luxury tourism projects.
Saudi Arabia's East West Crude Oil Pipeline, or Petroline, connects major oil-producing areas in the east with the Red Sea port of Yanbu, allowing crude oil to reach export facilities without relying completely on ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz. This pipeline gives Saudi Arabia greater flexibility during regional disruptions and supports the country's wider economic transformation.
