RNO Vessel Evacuates Crew After Attack on Saudi Oil Tanker Off Musandam
A Saudi-flagged oil tanker named SIDR came under attack approximately two nautical miles northwest of the Governorate of Musandam. The vessel was struck by a projectile, resulting in the deaths of two crew members among the 25-person team onboard.
The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) provided immediate logistical support to the tanker and successfully evacuated 16 crew members while ensuring necessary medical care was provided.
Omani authorities confirmed that all relevant support operations for the tanker have now been fully finalised following the stabilisation and rescue procedures.
