U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins recently visited FarmFest in Redwood Falls to give an update on key agricultural export markets.

According to Rollins, growth is strong in corn, ethanol, dairy, and tree nuts.

However, she also addressed concerns about the growing number of farm bankruptcies, calling them 'over-inflated' and comparing them to 'clickbait.'

Rollins emphasized that the real issue is not farm bankruptcies but rather the loss of farms to solar, wind, development, and a lack of interest among farmers to pass their land down to future generations.

She highlighted the importance of self-sufficiency in food production as a matter of national security, citing 2023 as the first year the U.S. imported more food than it exported.
