Romania Briefs EU on Russian Drone Incursions into National Airspace
At an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Wicklow, Ireland, Romanian Interim Foreign Minister Oana Toiu briefed her counterparts on repeated incursions by Russian drones into Romania's national airspace and exclusive economic zone.
Toiu stressed the need for enhanced measures to protect the Eastern Flank, taking into account the complementarity of EU and NATO instruments.
She also highlighted the impact of Russia's aggression in the Black Sea on grain exports, global food security, and grain prices, emphasizing Romania's efforts to facilitate grain exports with its neighbors and the European Commission.
The Romanian minister emphasized the importance of a coordinated approach to hybrid actions by Russia against EU member states and partners, expressing solidarity with those affected.
