Romgaz Posts Mixed Hydrocarbon Production Results in First Half of 2026
Romgaz, a Romanian state-owned energy company, released preliminary data on its hydrocarbon production for the first half of 2026. According to the report, Romgaz produced 15.67 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), down 3.2% compared to the same period last year.
The breakdown shows that natural gas extraction decreased by 3.4%, while condensate production increased by 10.3%. Natural gas marketed from domestic production totaled 2.36 billion cubic meters, a drop of 6.4%, and electricity production was significantly lower at 182 GWh.
The gas extracted from storage showed an increase of 17.8% to 1.47 billion cubic meters, while injected gas decreased by 17.8% to 764.1 million cubic meters. Romgaz's activities include exploration and production, underground storage, gas supply, well services, and electricity generation.
