US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that the Trump administration will continue to attack Iranian oil tankers in retaliation for attacks on US warships. The US military destroyed five Iranian oil tankers last night, with four damaged and one sunk.

This is part of a larger effort by the US to economically strangle the Iranian regime. According to Rubio, Iran will 'continue to pay a price' for attacking US ships, with its oil tankers being targeted as a result.

The attacks on the oil tankers come after Iran fired ballistic missiles at a US warship on two separate occasions within a two-day span. The US has accused Iran of financing its Revolutionary Guard and regional allies through a clandestine network worth billions of dollars.

President Trump has stated that Tehran 'can't take it anymore' and that the war will end 'immediately after the midterm elections'. He also claimed that Iran is seeking to influence the election by trying to get a weak group of people into power, which would allow them to have their nuclear weapon without facing opposition.
