Rupee Falls 28 Paise to Close at 94.84 Against US Dollar
The Indian rupee fell 28 paise to close at 94.84 against the US dollar on Tuesday, weighed down by geopolitical tensions in West Asia and rising Brent crude prices nearing USD 99 per barrel.
The local unit opened at 94.49 against the greenback and touched an intraday high of 94.49 and a low of 94.89 before settling at 94.84 (provisional), down from its previous close.
Anuj Choudhary, Research Analyst at Mirae Asset ShareKhan, expects the rupee to trade with a slight negative bias due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns over rising crude oil prices.
