Rupee Falls Amid US-Iran Tensions, Rising Oil Prices

The Indian Rupee fell to 94.97 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday, marking a decline of 2 paise from its previous close.

This depreciation is attributed to renewed US-Iran tensions, rising oil prices, and higher US Treasury yields.

Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury and Executive Director Finrex Treasury Advisors LLP, noted that the dollar benefits from its safe-haven status and the surge in Brent crude prices has lifted expectations of a September Fed rate hike.

The RBI is closely monitoring the rupee's fall amidst these global factors.
