Rupee Finds Support as Oil Prices Correct
The Indian rupee has stabilized in recent trading sessions as oil prices correct from their recent highs. This development is providing some relief to the currency, which had been under pressure due to concerns over global trade tensions and a widening current account deficit.
Brent crude futures have corrected by about 10% from their recent peak of $81 per barrel, trading near $73 as of today. The pullback follows easing supply concerns and profit-taking after a sharp rally earlier in the month.
The lower oil prices are significant for India, the world's third-largest oil importer, as they help contain inflation and reduce pressure on the rupee. A sustained decline in crude could improve the country's trade balance and support the currency in the coming months.
