Rupee Surges as Crude Oil Prices Plummet and Dollar Falls
The Indian rupee opened higher against the US dollar on August 3, driven by falling crude oil prices and central bank intervention. The domestic currency rose to 95.14 per US dollar, a 25-paise gain from its previous close of 95.39.
According to Finrex, the decline in Brent oil prices to $84 per barrel following Trump's delay on strikes against Iran contributed to the positive sentiment. The dollar index also fell to 99.72 levels, supporting the rupee's rise.
Finrex predicts that exporters will sell their gains during the day, while importers may continue buying dips and hedging their imports payable in the coming days.
