Russia Blames Ukraine for Exacerbating Global Food Shortages

Russian officials claim that Ukrainian strikes on grain and agricultural infrastructure are exacerbating global food shortages and pushing up prices.

The attacks, which have targeted Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, have killed three people, including a child, and forced major grain terminals to stop working.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the Ukrainian strikes are 'cynical' and serve the interests of Western countries.

The disruption in grain shipments from Ukraine has led to a 76% decrease in exports in the first two weeks of August, according to Ukraine's agriculture ministry.
