Russia Blocks Revival of Black Sea Grain Deal Amid Sanctions Concerns

Russia has no intention of reviving the Black Sea grain deal, which was brokered by the UN and Turkey to allow Ukrainian grain exports through the Black Sea ports. The pact was withdrawn by Russia in July 2023.

Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated that Russia sees no reason to resume the deal because the West has not altered its sanctions policy. This stance suggests that Russia is still dissatisfied with the current terms of the agreement, which may be a major hurdle for reviving the deal.
