Russia Bolsters Black Sea Cargo Ship Security Amid Drone Attacks
Russia has strengthened security measures for its cargo ships in the Black Sea following hostile drone attacks on maritime vessels, according to the transport ministry.
The ministry stated that it had established a task force to find new routes and switch cargo flows to other modes of transport in response to the 'tense situation' in the Sea of Azov.
A number of stevedoring companies have expressed their readiness to handle additional cargo volumes and accelerate shipment rates at their terminals, within their operational capabilities.
Russia's decision comes as Ukraine has been attacking Russian agricultural export facilities and commercial vessels in the Black Sea area, driving up wheat prices globally.
