Russia Cuts Off Gas Supplies to Armenia for Maintenance
Russia will temporarily halt natural gas supplies to Armenia from September 15 to 25 for scheduled maintenance and repair work on the Northern Caucasus, Transcaucasia trunk gas pipeline.
Gazprom Armenia announced that domestic reserves and additional natural gas volumes from Iran will ensure uninterrupted supply to consumers in the republic during this period.
This is not the first time Russia has suspended gas supplies to Armenia for maintenance. The same work was done last year in the second half of September, a few months after relations between Moscow and Yerevan deteriorated sharply.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's administration accuses Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of pursuing a pro-Western course, which has led to Russia restricting imports of Armenian goods.
