Russia Dominates Türkiye's Oil Imports

Türkiye imported a significant amount of crude oil and petroleum products in July, with Russia emerging as its largest supplier.

According to data from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), Türkiye brought in 4.52 million tons of crude oil and petroleum products during the month, with crude oil making up the largest component at 2.93 million tons.

Russia accounted for 36.69% of Türkiye's total oil imports in July, followed by Iraq with 14.46%, and Kazakhstan with 11.24%. Russia supplied 1.66 million tons to Türkiye during the month, while Iraq and Kazakhstan contributed 653,543 tons and 507,965 tons respectively.

In related news, domestic fuel sales increased in July, with petroleum product sales reaching 3.43 million tons, a 7.19% year-on-year rise. Diesel sales rose by 6.87%, while gasoline sales surged 10.42% to 616,717 tons.
