Russia has solidified its position as the world's largest wheat exporter in the 2025/2026 agricultural season, according to estimates from Agroexport, a federal center under Russia's Agriculture Ministry. The country exported approximately 46.5 million tonnes of grain, surpassing last season's total of 44 million tonnes.

One key factor contributing to this increase was a significant rise in wheat shipments to Iraq, which reached around 560,000 tonnes compared to just 82,000 tonnes during the previous year.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) also reports that Russia's grain exports have exceeded 48 million tonnes. This puts Russia ahead of other major exporters, including the European Union with 31.5 million tonnes and Canada with 29.6 million tonnes.
