Russia 'Not Ready' for Black Sea Grain Ship Ceasefire: Zelenskiy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Russia is 'not ready' for a ceasefire on grain ships in the Black Sea. Moscow and Kyiv have been accusing each other of intensified attacks on vessels carrying agricultural produce during the ongoing war.

Zelenskiy revealed that he proposed an agreement to stop attacking civilian targets, including grain ships, if Russia would halt its strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Russia wants a quid pro quo, where it would cease attacks on Ukraine's grain corridor in exchange for Kyiv stopping strikes on Russian oil refineries and fuel transportation.

Zelenskiy emphasized that the two issues - grain exports and energy infrastructure - are not comparable. He also expressed concerns about Russia's true intentions behind wanting a ceasefire on grain ships.
