Russia's oil production is at near-record levels, but the country is still rationing petrol due to disruptions in its refining capacity.

The Ukrainian drone strikes have targeted Russia's oil refineries, forcing them to suspend operations and reducing fuel supplies.

In July, Russian petrol production fell to around 65% of average seasonal demand, resulting in an estimated shortfall of 40,000 to 45,000 tonnes per day.

Russia has resorted to importing finished petrol from India, with a cargo of around 68,000 tonnes arriving at Russia's Arctic port of Vitino in August.
